Crack of dawn party

Normally mellow Ruby hollered her face off this morning until she woke up her big sister and has been smiles & gurgles since. That's when A & I realized its her two month birthday! She just wanted to party.

happy 11 months & 4th of july!

what a mug. :D i love this kid.

at 11 months she's walking pretty well, although still prefers crawling when she's in a hurry to get somewhere.  she's started pointing at things with both pointer fingers, a bit like Shooter McGavin, which makes me laugh every time. still babbling- although seems to say 'da' for dad and duck, and something like ktsetse for kitty. although, baxter & stuffed things are also kitties.

for the 4th we had a lot of friends over and had a good time playing in the pool. no fireworks for us though. maybe next year!

10 months

cece is 10 months old. it boggles my mind that she's 10 months. double digits! lol. she's so awesome. she hasn't walked since the other day. it's funny, now that she's done it she seems much happier crawling. it's as if she's realized how much quicker it is. she's very curious & determined. if people leave the room she gets mad. she's like a sheepdog :) no words yet, but that's ok, i love the baby babble, and she seems to be making a variety of sounds. i babble back to her half the time, i should probably use real words, huh?

anyway. love her. love watching her. sometimes when she's being bonkers & won't fall asleep and i'm getting crabby and think "for the love of GOD child just give up & go to sleep" and she finally does, i am instantly not annoyed anymore and just want to snuggle her.

i also want to express how grateful i am to be a SAHM at the moment, even though it wasn't really part of our plan. i honestly don't know how people manage working & a fam- i know, you do what you have to do. and i suppose not everyone is cut out to stay home? and lord knows i could be better at it. but i'm grateful for this time with my daughter and appreciate andrew's hard work at work & around the house.

8 months!

I cannot believe it's been 8 months (and a few days now) since Cecelia joined us 'on the outside' ;)  She's turning into quite a little character. lots of laughing, and raspberries. now she can wave (sometimes with one hand, sometimes with a little help from the other) and her rapidly becoming famous "boo face" where she scrunches up her nose and snuffles. i have no idea where it came from, but it's quite comical.

you can kind of see her boo face in this picture, although it LOOKS as if she's trying to eat the plastic egg, she's not.

The name 'boo face' comes from my friend Heather, who said her sister used to make the same face and that's what they called it. Sounded good to me!

as far as milestones, lots of babbling (bah bah bah, blah blah, & da's) some scootching, but that still makes her really frustrated because she can't go forward. she loves standing, and can pull herself up pretty well in her crib and on me. :)

Cecelia is 7 months old! holy moly! 

we got wii fit plus, which has a 'baby stats' feature (meaning one of us gets weighed, then we get weighed again holding the baby) so according to that last week she was 22 1/4 pounds!  she isn't much into rolling these days, she prefers to be sitting. she loves to stand (with help) and is trying to pull herself up. will she skip crawling? only time will tell!

she's getting awesome at eating, and has gone from just sucking on stuff, to actually eating it! and it seems like her pincher grasp is starting to show itself, so perhaps we will try some cheerios soon.

here she is nomming a muffin the other day. funny girl!

she still blows raspberries all the time and screeches like a crazy bird (in the cutest way possible) i love that, and will miss it a lot when she learns actual words, so i'm in no rush for that to happen.
