My Favorite Christmas Thing of 2010.

Since we got our tree earlier this month, every morning when Cece & I get up (ok, sometimes she gets up way before me with her dad, on those days when I finally drag out of bed) she runs to the tree and points:
"Tee! Tee!"

It took me a while, but I eventually realized she wanted me to turn on the lights. Most mornings she gets up around 5:30 so it's usually very dark still. I turn on the lights and she gets the biggest grin ever. Sometimes she points to the lights (ee-iigh's), sometimes she steals an ornament. Sometimes she just eats a banana & sits on my lap. I like that part the best. Anyway, for a few minutes every morning, before we turn to climbing and running and chasing for the day we have a snuggle & look at the Tee. I know next year will probably bring a new routine, so I'm enjoying every day I get of this one.

happy halloweeeeen!

Cece & her friends Jack & Kieran were Doozers for halloween (at least at our happy haunting party yesterday):

being a doozer is EXHAUSTING!

here's a movie of our attempt to get a group shot of the babies in their helmets :)

happy 11 months & 4th of july!

what a mug. :D i love this kid.

at 11 months she's walking pretty well, although still prefers crawling when she's in a hurry to get somewhere.  she's started pointing at things with both pointer fingers, a bit like Shooter McGavin, which makes me laugh every time. still babbling- although seems to say 'da' for dad and duck, and something like ktsetse for kitty. although, baxter & stuffed things are also kitties.

for the 4th we had a lot of friends over and had a good time playing in the pool. no fireworks for us though. maybe next year!

Happy Fathers Day

happy day to all the dads out there, but i'm going to dedicate this post to Cece's dad.

Thank you for being such an amazing dad, from the first weeks, when you had to make me english muffins because i was too nauseous to get out of bed without eating.
After I got my epidural & got to take a nap- you stayed up watching the monitors, keeping an eye on your girls.
Changing that first (of so many) diapers, getting broken on that uncomfy chair/bed in the hospital.

cuddles.
unabashed love & pride.

braving drool... & worse...

much much worse.

It's been a wonderful year of firsts. I am looking forward to many more years, and many more firsts.

happy momma's day

sunday was mothers day, my first "official" one (i kind of count last year, being largely pregnant like i was) Andy was super dad, took the baby out early, made breakfast, got me flowers & the diaper detergent i wanted (hehe).  and was generally fabulous.

om nom nom.
4 generations!
 4 generations of silliness ;)

merry christmas!

Cecelia's first christmas was a busy one!

Christmas eve eve we hung out w/her uncle matt & auntie melissa for some silliness as usual.

Christmas eve we finally got to go visit the Taunton Green & look at the lights

Then it was off to my uncle Dave & aunt Jan's, which was exhausting!

Here is Cece's cousin Patrick moving some spoons around:

I think after all that excitement, I was up more Christmas eve than Cece was! Christmas day we had lots of places to go, we started at our house, of course:

Cece wasn't sure what was going on, but she liked the sound of wrinkling paper :)

we visited with my mom next, where i didn't take any pictures, but i did take a video- i can only manage so much media!

next stop was my dad's house where we had a nice big breakfast and a mellow morning!

i probably could have used a nap at this point,

but there was no stopping us, and we were on to andy's parents:

we had a very nice visit there as well. mmm mexican food for dinner :) Feliz Navidad! we'd like to thank everyone for making Cecelia's first Christmas with us so wonderful, it was better than i could have imagined! <3

happy halloween!

The Farrers were a family of monkeys. the costumes were nice and easy, and we spent the day driving around to visit everyone. I think next year we'll throw a costume party and let everyone come to us! how does that sound? :) it was good fun though, everyone enjoyed Cecelia, of course, and see seemed to enjoy herself too, she was pretty mellow the whole day. She must have been one tired monkey though, because she slept the whole night! Her first time doing that!

Since Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, Cecelia got dressed up a lot before the big day. :)

This one is still a little big at least.

check out this rockin candy band shirt! Swa-eeeet!

labor day weekend

Cecelia was well traveled this holiday weekend! Saturday wasn't well documented, but Cece & Mom went to a baby shower for Ce's new friend Jackson who is keeping his parents on their toes by arriving a month early! he's improving every day and we can't wait to meet him! Cecelia also demonstrated her angry squid skills to those who doubted her :)

After that Ce brought us to uncle chris & aunt kristin's bbq where she had an enjoyable evening.  Here She is hanging out with her grampa farrer.

Sunday we packed up and headed up to Cohassett for more fun with Andy's side of the family. Cecelia got to meet a lot of people who she will have fun playing with in the future :)

here is the whole gang! Cecelia's the littlest one on the right ;)
Monday Cece got to say a quick hello to Grampa Pete & Alicia before heading off to yet another cookout at her great Aunt Sue's to say happy birthday & bon voyage to Kathryn who is heading to France for a whole year! wow!

Have a safe trip Kath!!

As usual Cecelia had a blast visiting so many friends and family! Mom's glad to have a few low key days to recover though. :)
